  • Front End Software Engineer

    Location : Edinburgh
    Salary : £25,000-£40,000

    MRM builds innovative marketing technology solutions that are used by some of the world’s biggest brands. Our products allow salespeople and customers to quickly and easily create customisable marketing materials that combine the strength of global marketing campaigns with a message that is on-brand and locally relevant.

    We occupy a unique position as an independently owned family business with global corporate customers such as Carlsberg, Diageo, Molson Coors, Bacardi, L’Oreal and Swarovski.

    Our Edinburgh based development team has been established recently and combines a start up feel with a large and growing client base. Every member of our small and dynamic team enjoys what they do, and takes pride in staying up to date with the latest technologies.

    What We Are Doing

    We are currently developing a new cloud based SAAS platform that will enable the business to rapidly scale on an international basis. We’re using the latest tech to create best-in-class web and iPad applications for the sales reps in the alcoholic drinks industry.

    Where We Are

    Our development team is based in CodeBase, at the heart of the Edinburgh tech scene. Our head office is based in Alloa, where we provide customer service and produce the physical marketing materials that are created using our software products.

    Who You Are

    You are a talented and passionate developer – you love what you do. You are willing to take a lead on how our customers interact with our software and explore options on how we can make their lives easier.

    You enjoy working within a small team of like-minded developers. You find it easy to communicate with customers, colleagues and product owners. You are not afraid to voice your opinion and appreciate the input of others. You proactively search for ways to improve existing features and help create specifications for what we may need for the future. Although you focus primarily on the front end, you have an understanding of how your work affects the whole stack and are not afraid to drill down into the back-end.

    Your Technical Skills

    Must have:

    • HTML/CSS (advanced)
    • Modern ES6+ Javascript/Node (intermediate)
    • Commercial experience as a developer
    • Design/UX experience (this doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve worked in a pure design role)
    • Ability to accurately translate ideas/mockups/wireframes to products.
    • Knowledge of modern tooling for single page applications (Webpack, Yarn, Babel etc) and genuine interest to keep this knowledge up to date.
    • The ability to engage effectively with other developers, customers and the product owner.

    Nice to have (it’s an advantage if you have skills in one or two of these, but not essential):

    • Experience with a software package for wireframe design/prototyping (Photoshop/Sketch/other)
    • React/Redux
    • Unit Testing
    • REST APIs
    • iOS native development: Swift/Objective C
    • Understanding of Continuous Integration/DevOps approaches

  • Graphic Designer

    Location : Alloa
    Salary : £18,000 - £25,000

    An established and rapidly growing B2B marketing agency based near Stirling is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join their team. The agency is the market leader in developing online marketing platforms and works with global brands such as L’Oreal, Bacardi, Molson Coors and Carlsberg.

    Your role will involve working across a range of well recognised brands producing artwork for point of sale items, direct marketing materials, website designs, brochures, email campaigns, and web content. You will be working from the initial concept, ideas and design stages – right through to finished print ready artwork stage.

    You will be required to work efficiently to deliver print ready artwork within tight time scales and therefore must be able work under pressure and prioritise your work effectively.

    You will be working within brand guidelines therefore excellent attention to detail and strong grammar and spelling skills are essential for this position along with an eye for layout.

    We require our designers to have excellent communication skills and an extremely high-level of customer service as you will be dealing directly with the customer via phone and email. You will be required to manage your client’s expectations and exceed them.

    Should you be invited to interview, we would expect to see a highly polished body of work that displays your keen eye for typography, illustration and layout in a manner that sets you apart from the competition.

    We are able to offer flexible hours with this role and will consider a full-time position, school hours or two part-time staff who are willing to job share.

    You must be willing to relocate or travel daily to Alloa.

    Essential Requirements:

    – Highly Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud

    – Experience of design for digital and wide format printing

    – Experience of designing for digital and web and use of Mailchimp

    – Excellent customer service skills, particularly over telephone and email

    – Minimum of three years commercial experience in a similar role

    – Ability to work flexibly and under pressure within a small team

     

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: £18,000.00 to £24,000.00 /year

    Holidays: 30 days per year including bank holidays
    Bonus: 10% profit share
